Strength & Balance

Our Strength and Balance class is part of ACC’s Live Stronger for Longer programme.

All New Zealanders that are at risk of falling, or who have a history of falling, can give this class a go. We incorporate exercises to improve overall health and help to reduce falls.

Classes take place at QE Health, Parksyde and Ngongotaha.

Appointments are essential and are available by self-referral by emailing us or by calling reception on 07 348 0189.

Hydrotherapy Pool Class

Hydrotherapy involves the use of warm water for pain relief, rehabilitation, exercise and recovery.

It is ideal for people who experience discomfort when exercising on hard surfaces, and helps improve strength and balance without the fear of falling.

This class is a 10-week block course with a maximum of eight people.  It is suitable for all ages and levels of fitness.

Classes are held Tuesday and Wednesday, 4.30pm – 5.30pm.  Allow time for changing before class.

A 10 week Class Pass = $150.

Bookings are essential.  Please book by phoning Reception or come in to purchase a Class Pass.

Basic relaxation massage course

Relaxation massage is a smooth, gentle treatment that relieves muscular tension, increases circulation, and promotes a general sense of relaxation.

Pilates

Our Pilates classes help to improve flexibility, build strength and develop control and endurance in the entire body. We focus on alignment, breathing, developing a strong core, and improving coordination and balance.

Classes are held in our Pilates studio.

Pilates is available by booking only. Please make a booking and purchase a pass at our Reception.

Community Exercise Pool

This is NOT a directed pool class.  This is where members are able to do their own exercises in our pool.

We have four slots each week where members are able to do their own exercises in our community pool.

Monday 1.00 – 2.00pm   and   2.30 – 2.30 pm
Wednesdays 2.30 – 3.30 pm
Thursdays 1.00 – 2.00 pm

Please allow time for changing before class.

A  QE  Class Pass for 10 classes = $55

Bookings are essential. Please book a slot  by phoning Reception 07 348 0189, or coming in to purchase a Class Pass.

Yoga  and  Tai Chi

These classes are to be booked with the contact name given at the bottom of the class, not through QE Health.  Classes are held in the QE Health Studio.

Fees:
Beginners Taster Yoga 6 sessions = $120
Yin Yoga 8 sessions  =  $160
